Obituary for Joel Lee Levin

Joel Lee Levin, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023, at the age of 86. Born July 30, 1937, in Baltimore, Joel's life began on Park Avenue in Druid Hill Park. He began playing tennis at a young age on the popular clay courts. He attended elementary school #61, junior high school #49, then attended Baltimore City High School where he joined the Phi Epsilon Pi fraternity where he remained faithful to his love of tennis. He graduated in 1958. He then attended University of Maryland Law School and upon his graduation in 1961, joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He was in the army reserve for 5 and a half years with 6 months activity duty. He practiced law from 1962 to 2019 in his own law firm.

Joel worked as a volunteer for "Make a Wish Foundation." He was head of the Maryland Bar Association Grievance Commission Panel for several years. He was an avid sports collector and also of founding father memorabilia. His life was full of great friends from Camp Saginaw and schools he attended. He was a unique man and leaves his loving wife Joan Levin of 50 years, and son, Brian Levin, and grandson, Austin Levin. He was predeceased by his sister Sue Hess.

Interment is private for family only. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Make a Wish Foundation. The family will be receiving at 8 Evan Way, Pikesville, MD 21208 on Monday only from 4pm to 6pm.
