Obituary for Adela Galler (Rudel)

Adela V. Galler, born Adela Victoria Rudel, was born on July 19, 1933 in a rural section of Argentina.

Adela is survived by her stepson Carl Galler of Largo, FL, Adrienne Galler Lastra of Pinones, PR and Gabrielle Galler-Rimm of Maui, HI.; grandchildren, Risa Kestler, Matthew Galler and Alec Galmont, and great-grandchildren, Holden, Harper, and Oliver.

Adela moved to the US as a young woman to work as an au pair, and later married the love of her life, her late husband, Dr. Sidney R. Galler.

"Baba", as she was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was an ever-loving, comforting presence in the lives of Risa, Matthew, and Alec; playing an integral role in their childhoods. She later went on to help raise the children of 2 additional families (from infancy through highschool-age).

Her love for children was undeniable, and her passion for caring for them ran strong all the way up to her last days; perhaps she was always young at heart, herself. From her passion for finding beauty in almost everything, to her adoration for reading, gardening, cooking, classical music, and fine art, Adela lived a long and fulfilled life.

While she enjoyed her independence, she touched the lives of so very many, and will be truly missed by all.

Services at Baltimore Hebrew Berrymans Lane Cemetery, 318 Berrymans Lane, Reisterstown, MD 21136, on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Adela's memory, to the charity of your choice.
