May the fond memories we share of Alan help push away the tremendous sadness we all feel at this time.
I too remember back in the day, when I was a teen working in my uncle’s store (Payson) and then also before college working in my father’s office (Marvin).
We all looked forward to the fun and many times hilarious lunches with the “lunch gang”;
Alan, sometimes Stanley, Payson, Dave Cohen, Marvin and I.
Alan was warm-hearted, compassionate, kind so much more, and a joy to be around.
We will miss Cousin Alan dearly.
May he rest in peace.
Rest in peace , cousin Alan.

I have known Alan since 1972 when we moved in down the street from the Getz family on Glenwood Road in Bel Air MD. He has always been a trusted friend and advisor to my mother and our family over many decades. His tall, lanky gait and friendly smile were a fixture of Office Street. I am so sorry to hear that he has left us now, and I send my condolences to Carol, Randy, Joel and their families. Alan was a fine man and a blessing to those around him.

Dear Carolee and family,
Condolences on the passing of Alan, always a pleasure to be around especially with his trickster-partner, Alvin Katz. I remember well the day on an Associated mission in Morocco when the two of them picked up a spittoon and knocked on the door of the hotel room where Goldie Hawn and Steve Russel were staying to present them with the "Sultan's Award." Russel came close to getting both of them with one punch. Good thing he missed. May his memory be a blessing.

To the Getz Family
What a beautiful service---you have done your father proud. It was a privilege to have been considered a family friend to him. Dave and Hannah loved him and his children as well (after Dad finally retired, he kept a photo of the 4 Getz grand kids over his desk, along side his own).
And about that Pepsi habit (thank you for sharing that, Randy)---Dave always bragged that his buddy Alan had the most trash cans of anyone on Glenwood Drive---now we know why.
With love always

I knew Alan mostly by virtue of knowing and working for the fabulous Carollee when she worked at BT, for Mrs. Schorr, in the mid-1980s. I have heard many great things things about Alan, but think he - and his relationship with Carollee - may best be exemplified by the license tag of the gray Porsche 944 she once had (that she let me drive a time or two) that read YLSNWI. Many times over many years I guessed what it might mean until, eventually, Carollee confided that it stood for "I will never stop loving you," backwards.

Carollee, Randy, Stacey, Joel, Eli, Sophie, Hannah & Noah,
How can I describe the kindness, thoughtfulness and "menschlekidt" Alan always showed me? He was consistently thinking of others, both in his circle and outside of it. The happiness he derived from his family was contagious, watching him interact with his grandchildren with pure joy was beauty to behold. He personified Tikkun Olam for he truly left his world a better place. He was a man of his word and his word was true and solid. Although it will be difficult to grasp his loss and move forward, please know that we are better for having him with us for as long as we did. I will miss his impish smile and hearty laughter, but I see facets of him in all of you. He will be with you always.

Sincerest condolences,

Alan and I go back some 60 years and i number him as one of my dearest friends. Not only did we share business opportunities over the years working together but developed a wonderful friendship which I shall cherish the rest of my life. Alan was not only a friend; he was also a confidante in whom I had the utmost confidence. I found his advice and mentoring to be second to none. He was totally honorable--his word was his bond. We are going to miss him very much and hope and pray he rests in peace.

Dear Randy, Stacey and Joel,
We are truly sorry we cannot be with you at this time. We loved your dad as family and it is no surprise that what we will all remember is Alan's sense of humor. From mass quantities of (only) Pepsi hidden in the O.C closet to the Getz delivery service....schlepping everything under the sun to Israel. We still have the tie Alan gave Moshe to wear under the chuppah when he decided that it was not respectful to get married without being suitably dressed! Our love to you, Carollee and the family. Dear Getz Family,
We are saddened to learn of Alan’s passing. Perhaps renown best as a trusted attorney and tax adviser, Alan was a force on the tennis court with long legs and a wingspan hard to beat. He later took on the passionate of a competitive golfer. His weekday lunch date with Dave Cohen and others in Bel Air were set like a clock. He was quick with a joke and quicker with whit and wisdom. My father and mother would entertain Alan and the family each Sunday at the old store. It was mayhem, yet Alan took it in stride as the kids ran wild. He was unflappable. His High Holiday Israel Bond Appeals at the Harford Jewish Cebter were with passion. It may have been the same speech each year, but he delivered it as though it were his first. Most importantly, Alan’s love of his family was on his sleeve and in his heart. He will be missed. A good life. A good man.
