Obituary for Alvin Cohn
Dr. Alvin Cohn, of Catonsville, Maryland, passed away on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at the age of 87. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sara Cohn; children, Meredith Cohn (and husband Doug Beizer) and Felicia Cohn (and husband John Carlson); and grandchildren, Matilda Beizer, Amanda Carlson, and Colin Carlson. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanette Goldfarb; and parents, Myrtle and Nathan Cohn.
Alvin loved not only his family but most everyone he met. He was always adopting neighborhood children and thought the best of everyone. A long-time criminology professor and consultant, he was not shy about offering lessons and opinions.
There will be a memorial service at a later date, but burial will be at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032, on Thursday, January 20th, 2022 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, P.O. Box 117431, Atlanta, GA 30368-7431.
