Obituary for Bert Mark Harris

Bert Mark Harris, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly Baltimore, MD, passed away on Monday, March 29th, 2021 at the age of 80. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Harris (nee Wiesner); children, Aaron (Sandy) Harris, Lee (Marilyn) Harris, Dayna (Seth) Spinner, and Billy Sadoff (Brittney Vogt). He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Ruth Harris.

Bert Harris had an amazingly rich and varied life. Bert's career track began with his father's hardware store and ended in the GAO, he was a veteran of the Coast Guard, he traveled extensively on cruises with Karen, was an expert gardener, a musician, an avid dancer, an art lover, an all around Mr. Fix It, and of course, Bert was the patriarch of a large and loving blended family. Bert had a dry sense of humor which was always paired with a signiture twinkle of his eyes. He loved sharing stories about his life or discussing his projects. He was always at most a phone-call away for advice about anything, from relationships to home-ownership. His vast array of experiences and skills made him sometimes opinionated but endlessly supportive and protective. Worth a particular mention is his legendary sweet tooth, and separating his memory from the overarching concept of chocolate is impossible. He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him and doubly so by the family that he created.
