Obituary for Chana Faye Bass
Chana Faye Bass (daughter of Natie and Butzie, both deceased), sister of Deborah Berman and beloved aunt to Brian Antonczak and Lisa (Nate) Uriell and great aunt to Aiden and Declan Uriell, passed away on October 23, 2022 from complications of emphysema.
Chana's lifelong love of books and reading led her to a 34 year career as an English teacher at Lansdowne and Catonsville High Schools. Her other passions were many animal support groups as well as the Baltimore County Public Library, to which she made many generous donations.
She was a loyal friend to many and was devoted to her cats. In her retirement Chana enjoyed mahjong and playing cards at the Catonsville Senior Center, as well as taking an occasional Spanish class.
The loss of her warmth and sunny disposition leaves a hole in many hearts.
Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 at 12:00 pm. Interment private. Please omit flowers.
