Daniel Cole Fox, 31, of Ellicott City, MD, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He died at home with his wife Krystal, of unexpected respiratory arrest due to COVID. Daniel was born April 21, 1991, at the Bethesda Naval Hospital, to Dr. Emilie Cole and Dr. Lawrence Fox, CAPT USPHS. He was raised in Columbia, MD, with his younger brother and sister, Alex and Amy. He attended elementary school at Hebrew Day Institute in Bethesda, where he mastered the dual language curriculum in Hebrew and English, played on the basketball team, and showed amazing talent in portrait drawing. He attended Congregation Beth Shalom in Columbia, where he displayed extraordinary skills in torah cantellation, reading torah 14 times in the year immediately following his bar mitzvah. He graduated from Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, in 2009, where he met Krystal, the love of his life. He studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at The University of Maryland.
At age 14 he accompanied his dad to the gym in Columbia and after being oriented to the cable weights said, “Dad, I want to go down to the weight room where the big boys are.” Thus began his career as a competitive powerlifter, bodybuilder, and elite coach.
Daniel was able to see the potential in people and knew how to push others to greatness. His career was most remarkable for coaching his clients to winning bodybuilding titles and state, national and world records in powerlifting. His coaching was special not only due to his expertise in exercise physiology, diet and endocrinology, and muscular kinetics, but most especially for his deep commitment to improving the lives of his clients by helping them to find the spirit to believe in themselves and succeed throughout life.
Daniel touched the lives of many people and showed compassion to anyone who reached out to him. The simplest things in life brought great joy to Daniel. He loved spending time with his wife Krystal, hosting UFC fight parties with his friends, watching movies, reading a good book or getting a good workout in with friends. His sweet, kind, loving nature and pleasant personality were contagious, and he made memorable impressions on everyone he met. Daniel loved and was loved deeply, and was loyal and devoted to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Krystal Fox, mother-in law Donita Robinson, sister Amy Fox, father Lawrence Fox, mother Emilie Cole and her spouse Rebecca Campany.
