Dear Ilene, Howie, Bev, Jamie and Sean,
Our hearts are heavy and full of sadness because your beloved husband and father has passed. We will miss Dave’s joy and zest for travel and of course, his family. We remember our first river trip down the Danube with Dave and you, Ilene. What an amazing time! Having you as our across the street neighbor was a blessing. How lucky we all were on Crossbeam. Actually Dave sold us our home there! Howie and Adam and Jeff are so close today, even though miles keep them apart. We are with you today and in our hearts always.

I was saddened to learn today of my cousin Dave's passing on Thursday. Although I knew that he was facing some challenging health problems, the news came as a shock, nevertheless.

My fondest memory of Dave dates back about fifty-five years when I was twelve. My mother and I were spending the summer at my grandparents summer home in the Catskills. One afternoon, Dave showed up unexpectedly for a short visit, having driven the many miles from Queens. He brought along with him a gift for me, a wooden chess set. I don't recall if his arrival coincided with my birthday in August, but it may have. His gift touched me deeply, and still does. I keep that old chess set, in it's gray, wooden box, tucked away in a bedroom closet. It reminds me of my sweet, loving cousin Dave, and his caring act of kindness so many years ago. I will miss you, cousin Dave.
