Dear Donner and Baverman Families, I was saddened to learn of Dorothy's passing. Growing up in the same neighborhood, I fondly remember all the "kids" playing and having fun together. Dorothy and her family lived on Emmart Avenue and I grew up just 2 houses away on Rubin Avenue. I remember how her father Jimmy would dote over his 3 children. Please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of such a kind spirit. May her memory always be a blessing for your families and all those that you love.

Dear Aaron, Sara, and Family,
We were so sorry to hear about Dorothy's passing and miss that wonderful smile on her picture. I had the pleasure and honor of teaching with Dorothy in the elementary school at TA for over twenty years and becoming her great admirer for her unique teaching ability, indefatigable work ethic, and love of the children. Not only did she share her teaching ideas, but even she she didn't feel well, she never complained. Truly, she was one of the most stoic and unselfish people we knew. She exhibited the same love and devotion to her family and many times served at its center, always humbly. All who knew her--her family, friends,. colleagues, and students will keep her memory in their hearts as a blessing.

Dear Donner Family,

I was very sad to hear about Dorothy's passing and I wanted to express my deepest condolences on your loss. I loved caring for Ms. Donner over the years! The world is indeed a sadder place without her and I will miss our conversations and her perky, kind, and intelligent manner.

May God console you among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem (Ha’makom yenahem etkhem betokh she’ar avelei Tziyonvi’Yerushalayim).

With warmest personal regards,
Dr. David Madoff

Dear Aaron & Sara,
My deepest sympathy to you. I am sorry for your loss.
I was very fond of Dorothy. She always told me how devoted to her care you were. And how appreciative she was. Her grandchildren was her best medicine. She absolutely kvelled over them. Be well, hold beautiful memories deep in your hearts💔

Dear Alan and Family,

Just heard about the passing of Dorothy as we just got back from Florida. Last time I saw you and her was at the Shiva house for your mom. Many great memories of the neighborhood on Rubin and Emart Avenue growing up in the 50's and 60's including the carpooling and just hanging out on the streets of such a great area. She was such a sweat person when we were all growing up and also into her adult life. She is now no longer suffering from the pain she had the last several years. Hope all the family remember her during her happier times.

It was a privilege to have spent so many years with Dorothy professionally and as a friend. She was dedicated to her students, devoted to the welfare of her many colleagues, and an inspiration in the way she handled the many adverse situations in her life. Her devotion to you, Aaron, Sara, her grandchildren, the rest of her family and friends was remarkable. May you find comfort and strength in the wonderful memories you have of her.

I'm sorry to hear about Dorothy's passing. I lived across the street from you on Emmart Avenue and used to get a ride with your father to Arlington Elementary in the 1950's. I remember one morning your father had parked the wrong way on the street. He had a ticket in the windshield and I took it off, knocked on the door, and gave it to him. I had thought that it was an advertisement!

I saw where your mother had passed away not long ago.

Well, we all had good times on Emmart Avenue.

Dear Alan and family ,
I am so sorry to hear of Dorothy‘s passing. I have such fond memories of your family from Emmart/Rubin Ave. Just yesterday I was telling a friend how your father carpooled the entire neighborhood to school. First he would do the high school run then come back for the junior high kids and then the elementary kids. We all piled into the car in our heavy winter coat without seatbelts. Those were the days.
As Dion said in his song “only the good die young”. So true with respect to your beloved Dorothy. May her memory be for a blessing and may she rest in peace with your parents and Rhona.
