Obituary for Edward Shelton Shapiro
Edward Shelton Shapiro, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Friday, October 14th, 2022 at the age of 97. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leila Shapiro (nee Cohen); children, Barry Shapiro, and Ellen Shapiro Levine; and grandchildren, Misha Shapiro (Greg Mueller), Nathaniel Shapiro, Ambre Bratschi, Sara Levine, and Rachel (Ari) Podhorcer. He was predeceased by his loving son, Michael Adam Shapiro; son-in-law, Joel Phillip Levine; and parents, Hyman and Kathryn Shapiro.
Edward will be remembered for his selfless contributions to his country both through his brave service in the Army during World War II, and his determined passion for civil rights. An amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. May his memory be for a blessing always.
Services at Bnai Israel Cemetery, 3701 Southern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21206, on Sunday, October 16th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Please omit flowers.
