I am so sorry to hear about Ellen’s passing. I met her a few years ago when she took me on a tour and visit with families who were being assisted by Meals on Wheels. We also had a connection via our sons, both Jonathans, who were friendly during their time at Hopkins. What a loss of someone so warm, vivacious and caring. May her memory be a blessing.

I am heartbroken to hear of Ellen’s passing. I have many fond memories of working with her at the Baltimore JCC and our friendship afterwards. A woman of compassion, Ellen was the epitome of Tikun Olam. I have never met another human so devoted to helping others. The world has lost a most loving, creative, and special person. I am especially sad we lost touch over the years. I will always remember, and will always hold dear in my heart, her wonderful smile and gentle spirit. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Dear Stewart, Jonathan and Family,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved wife and mother. I first met Ellen when Jonathan was in my first grade class. She was so proud of her little guy, and when I met her again many years later at Johns Hopkins Hillel Rosh Hashana services, she was beaming with pride as she told me about Jonathan’s position at Hillel. She was such a warm and friendly person, and I hope that your beautiful memories with bring you comfort at this most difficult time. May Ellen’s memory be for a blessing.

Oh my, the passing of Ellen is shocking and very saddening news. Ellen and I shared seats at the table of BC-REST (Baltimore County-Restoring Elder Safety Today) and I had the good fortune of partnering with her when I was at CHAI bringing resources to the members of Northwest Neighbors Connecting. We shared the passion for helping to keep our elders safe. We always had spirited conversations. Ellen was smart and always lots of fun.... and not to forget mentioning her being quite an artistic fashionista.
We would even run into each other at the nail salon. She was so Awesome! Please accept my deepest condolences. May her soul rest in peace and May her memory be a Blessing for many generations to come.

Jerry and I are shocked and saddened to hear about Ellen's passing. We knew her as such a lovely and kind person who was always smiling. The time our children, Jonathan and Ashley spent at Beth Tfiloh School feels like a lifetime ago, but also like it was just last week. We hope the knowledge of her deep and endless love for you will give you the strength to get through this most painful journey. May Ellen's name be for a blessing.

I have only known Ellen for a little over a year. I met her playing man Jongg on-line with Wendy and Joanne. During the first few months of the pandemic, we played almost every day. Ellen was an excellent player. Although I only knew Ellen for a short time, I immediately knew that she was a smart, witty, kind, and caring person who adored her family. I wish I could have known Ellen longer - she was a special person.

Dear Maier family,
I am so sad to read about the loss of Ellen. Our families go way back to our childhood days as our backyards faced each other. My sister, Mindy was always running through the backyard to play with Ilene. My Mom & your Mom were close as neighbors were in those days. In later years I would run into Ellen when she worked at the Epilepsy Foundation (and I was a school nurse). My last contact with Ellen was a couple of years ago when I was in Baltimore visiting family for the High Holidays. I ran into Ellen & Jody at Chabad Services and Ellen told me she was moving to Colorado to be with her son and grandchildren. I'm so glad that she was able to spend time with her grandchildren. Cherish all the memories as we lose another "friend from the old neighborhood."
