Obituary for George Samuel Goodman

George Goodman, age 87, passed away on May 16, 2022 at his home in Pikesville, MD, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Joyce Goodman (née Wormser); his sons Dr. Jeffrey Scott Goodman and Brian Lyle Goodman; his grandchildren Benjamin Ibay Goodman, Ethan Ibay Goodman, Jason Ian Goodman, and Sophia Vera Goodman; and his daughters-in-law Monalyn Ibay and Julie Goodman.

George was born in Boston, MA on May 26, 1934, to Benjamin (Barney) and Sophia Goodman. After graduating from Brookline High School and The Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering, he served in the Air Force before moving to Baltimore, MD. George married Joyce in 1959, and they were happily married for 63 years. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Electrical Engineering before starting a long and successful career at T. Rowe Price. He was very active in his community, serving as Chairman of the Board of Levindale and in several other positions in Associated Jewish Charities. He was an incredibly warm and loving father, husband, and grandfather, and his family and friends will always remember his sense of humor, his intelligence, his generosity, and his dedication to his loved ones. It was a privilege and an honor to have known him, and he will be deeply missed.

Funeral service at Sol Levinson’s Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21208 on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 3:30 pm. Interment at Hebrew Young Men's Cemetery, Woodlawn, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Beth El Congregation, 8101 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21208, or Levindale, 2434 W. Belvedere Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215. Family in mourning at 12204 Faulkner Drive, Owings Mills, MD 21117, Wednesday following interment with a service at 7pm. Thursday receiving from 2pm to 4pm with a service at 7pm. Due to allergies, we would appreciate limiting the use of colognes and perfumes.
