I was taken by surprise and saddened to learn that George passed away. I worked with him at UMB, and enjoyed his kindness, sense of humor and his gift for story telling. We had both been military long ago, and he entertained me greatly with his stories of army life in Europe. He would proudly show me pictures of his grandchildren. George will be fondly remembered. My deepest condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to the Scheer family. I worked with George for many years at UMB. He always had a story to tell or always taught you something new. I used to love to hear him talk about his family especially his grandchildren. We both had granddaughters named Maya.

I worked with George and he didn't have it easy, but he always maintained a steady disposition and a great sense of humor. He was a wonderful colleague. After he retired we would occasionally meet for lunch. He was erudite and funny and always spoke about his family with great affection and love. I am sorry there will be no more lunches and I am sorry for your loss.

My sincere condolences to the Scheer family. I worked briefly with George at the University. He made my short time there bearable.
Luckily, I was able to spend some time with him. Quite a character. Every time I think of
him, I always have a smile on my face. I am sorry for your loss.

I had the fortunate experience to have known George for most of my 66 years. Although I hadn’t seen him for a number of years, I remember fondly his kind soul and great sense of humor. Anyone who was lucky enough to know him knew what a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend he was. May his many good memories serve as a blessing. To all those who love him, know that his spirit is alive and well and surrounds you. ♥️

Helena, Danny, Nancy and family,
Your pain is our pain. I have shared every step of of the way with you and will continue to do so. George’s dry sense of humor could not 💝be beat, although this gift he leaves to Danny. You have Two incredible children who cannot do enough to make your life easier. The miles are not in our favor, but as soon as we get the go signal, we will be at your doorstep. Get those lady fingers ready.
