So sorry to hear about Gerry's passing. You probably don't know me, but my father (the other Bernie Smith) and your father were first cousin's. Your grandfather, Paul, was my grandfather, Julius',brother.
My parents were also members of MMAE and I would see your parents at shul. I still attend services there and it was always so nice to see Gerry there. She always asked me how everyone was and never complained about anything. We sometimes joked about the fact that having two Bernie Smiths in the shul was confusing. To add to the confusion, I grew up on Dayta Drive at the time that your parents (and you, I assume) lived on Dalton Drive! We even got their mail on occasion.
On behalf of myself and my brother and sister, I offer our deepest condolences to you all and your families.

I am so sorry to see that Gerry has passed away. Gerry graduated six months after me from The Sinai Hospital School Of Nursing so I have had the pleasure of knowing her for many years. The picture I have enclosed was taken at the last luncheon the Nurses Alumnae had before closing down. Gerry is seated at the table and I am in the middle behind her. My sympathy and caring to her family. Rest In Peace my friend. Sandy Haffner Ellison

Your mom, Gerry, was an absolutely wonderful friend to my mom ~ mom always looked at her for her valued medical advice and feedback.. mom could always count on receiving an updated mahjong card w/o fail .. and they both had a deep friendship history going back to Dalton Drive -probably 55 years! I know when my mom was in the hospital several times over the past five years, Gerry was the first to call a s if she didn’t reach us she kept on calling. She truly was a special friend and our mom‘s heart is broken after learning of her passing. May she rest in peace

Very sorry for your loss. Something is missing with her gone. I met her when I met my husband. She married my husband's aunt's brother. When I met her I did not know she also knew my mother from many years ago. My mother told me and she told me they knew each other.

So sorry to have to see the loss of Gerry. Probably don’t remember me. I was a neighbor on Dalton Drive right across the street from you. I used to run into your mother at MMAE and always greeted with wonderful smiles. Thinking of everyone. My deepest sympathy

The congregation at MMAE mourns the loss of our congregant and friend, Gerry Smith. Gerry was a genuinely nice woman who endured many losses, but she did so with a quiet grace and appreciation for the blessings she had. Always happy to be in shul. Always happy to see you. Always ready to give you kind and positive greetings. We pray that warm memories of Gerry will give a measure of comfort to her family and friends. We will miss her.
