Obituary for Harry Martin Leibowitz

Harry Martin Leibowitz, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Monday, February 8th, 2021, surrounded by his beloved wife of 43 years, Deborah Leibowitz (nee Studnitz) and his children, Janice Mace and Louis Leibowitz. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Mace and Robert Wilkins-Mace. He was predeceased by his cherished parents, Ethel and Louis Leibowitz.

Harry strongly valued family, friendship, and being of service to others. His life has also been blessed with an abundance of extended family and friends who cared for him deeply and are a tremendous comfort and support during this difficult time. Those who knew Harry will remember him for his passion for disability awareness and accessibility, his love of cars and computers, his enthusiasm for shopping and the art of haggling, and his dynamic storytelling. Harry was hard working and in his free time enjoyed travel, reading, all things Star Trek, and delighting all with his quirky sense of humor.

Funeral services and interment are private on Wednesday, February 10. A recording of the service will be uploaded to this web page by Thursday. A virtual shiva service will be open to all who wish to attend on Wednesday, February 10th and Thursday, February 11th at 7:00 p.m. An informal memorial and celebration of Harry’s life will occur immediately following Wednesday’s shiva services.
