Obituary for Henry Bernstein
Henry W. Bernstein, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the age of 96. He is survived by his loving children, Jay (Dina) Bernstein, Susan (Mark) Biller, and Rona (Gerard) Cross; grandchildren, Tyler (Katrina) Biller, Jared (Mallory) Biller, Katie Cross, Molly (Austin) Surhoff, Nicole Cross, Emma Cross, Yehuda (Shiri) Bernstein, Atara (Benny Herskovitz) Bernstein, and Ezra (Ariella) Bernstein; and great grandchildren Rayna, Ethan, Ami, Leora and Mason. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irene Bernstein (nee Saffron); son, Steven Bernstein; and parents, Jacob and Sarah Bernstein.
During World War II, Henry served in Europe as a member of the 56th Armored Engineer Battalion, and after the war, had a long and distinguished career as an officer in the Maryland Army National Guard. He was devoted to his family, his faith and his country, and will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. May his memory be for a blessing.
