Joe was the Secretary on the BOD at Annen Woods, before I took over about 3 years ago. Joe was a pleasure to interact with, always pleasant and friendly. I would see him at the AW pool too, but he liked to keep a low profile. I am sure the family has many fond memories of Joe.

Joe has been my downstairs neighbor for 6 years. He was such a kind and pleasant man. He will be missed. I also had the pleasure of knowing Gloria from the beauty shop. She was as sweet as she was beautiful. I know they have left you many wonderful memories.

Joe was my first pharmacy mentor, and a great one. He hired me- a 16 year old high school kid- to clean his drugstore in Edgewood MD back in 1978. Over the next 6 years he gradually took me from vacuuming and dusting to working behind the Rx counter, and instilled in me a love for a profession that has served me and my family well for the past 35+ years. Thank you for all you did for me Joe, and my deepest condolences to Shari, Susan and the rest of the family.

While it’s strange that I don’t know Jonas’s girls, I grew up on Gist Avenue, just around the corner from your grandmother, Blanche. She was at our house every weekend. Such fond memories! I am saddened to hear of your dads passing, he was such a kind and gentle soul. Wishing you comfort in your time of loss. Rita (Donick) Schleidet.

I remember Joe when we were neighbors and good friends in our teen years and lived in the Gwynns Falls and Longwood Street area. Joe was in pharmacy school at that time. We had lots fun and laughter - close with the whole family. They were good years with great memories that I still recall with fondness. Rest in peace dear friend.

Shari and Susan,
Marlene and I send our sincere condolences on the passing of your dad.. Joe was a friend and fellow pharmacist at NeighborCare and GBMC for many years. We all felt very lucky to have Joe on our team for so many years. He was a true professional and was always a pleasure to work with and be around. Our friendship continued on even after retirement with Joe's participation in continuing pharmaceutical education as well as his support for "Compassion and Choices" supporting the "Death with Dignity" legislation. We all will miss Joe but be thankful we had the opportunity to work side by side with him for a long time.

I met Jonas as a volunteer with Compassion and Choices. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Medical Aid in Dying...and support from someone with his knowledge and background was/is of key importance. My interactions with him made it clear that he was a kind, loving, and intelligent man. His reach extended beyond his work and family and he will be missed by many...including me. May our warm memories of Jonas nourish all who knew him.
