Yossel was part of the minyan at Congregation Tiferet Israel and said Kaddish regularly. He always came with a smile and a joke and was missed when not there. He was a gentleman of the old school..always polite and happy to see you.

To all who have been touched by the smile of Yossi! A true loss to this community.... We have never met a person with such an upbeat attitude, incredible sense of humor, and this will be so missed. Will always remember fondly Yosella’s response whenever asked How are You??? A resounding FANNNNTASTIC! He was at shul rain or shine, and always with a kind word. A true icon of the Austin Tiferet Israel community.
May your family be comforted by your memories and may his soul Rest In Peace.

Dear Lar and the entire Ellison Family,
Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Joe once, he was a very warm, friendly and outgoing person; which led us to be Facebook friends. I know he meant so much to all of you and this is a huge loss to your family, and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so very sorry for your loss! May his memory be forever a blessing.

Yossel was a much loved and stalwart member of Congregation Tiferet Israel in Austin. I will miss his great warmth, humor, and Yiddish wisecracks, and we were all so deeply privileged to have known him! May his memory be a blessing.
