Obituary for Leonard Roberts
Leonard Roberts, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, passed away on Monday, June 7th, 2021 at the age of 89. He is survived by his children, Thomas E. Roberts (Susan J. Morrrison), Richard L. (Faith B.) Roberts; grandchildren, Hannah (Peter) Boyer, William Elijah Roberts (Christina Smith), Joshua Roberts, Sean Roberts, Theodore Roberts, Andrea Roberts and Rebecca Roberts; great grandchildren, Linus Boyer and Edith Roberts. He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Roberts (nee Springer); his oldest son, Steven Roberts.
Leonard is also survived by his current partner, Peggy Singer, and is expecting his third great grandchild in October.
He spent his life serving others, from his raising three boys to his extensive volunteer work after retirement. He was a leader in everything he took on, including the Jewish War Veterans, Toastmasters International, volunteer work at Perry Point Veterans Hospital, and the local chapter of the AARP. This service was recognized by his induction into the Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame in 2006.
A Virtual Funeral in Levinson's Chapel will be held on Monday, June 14th, 2021 at 12:30 PM. Family will begin receiving at 11am. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery - Garrison Forest Road.
