Maddie was always a joy to be with. We shared so many good times together. Beth Israel, Marriage Encounter brought us together, and a friendship formed. Her homes in both Delight Meadows and Dover were beautiful and welcoming, just like Maddie. We hope you will remember all the wonderful times.

The special bond Maddi and I shared will always be my lifelong touchstone. She was seven when I was born. I always felt like a cherished shadow following her everywhere. I will continue to look up to her and always remember her kindness, curiosity, grit, love of family and Joie de vi-vre. As we grew older I watched her apply these attributes first as a loving daughter and grand daughter, niece, and cousin, then friends, in her married life, and as a mother and grandmother. Always as a wonderful sister to Larry and I. Maddi accomplished becoming a Bat-Mitzvah in her 30’s, was a secretary and office manager, an in-home seamstress, a paralegal, and accomplished her dream of becoming a college entrant at age 50 and received a B.A. degree with Honors and Distinction from Goucher College. Of course she was happiest as a life-long learner and lover of books and world travel.
I am so grateful for everything she taught me and all that we shared together.
To quote Maddi “when we embrace each other, we are embracing ourselves”.

My sincere condolences to the entire family on the loss of Maddie. We were friends and classmates in the Goucher II program. Maddie had a terrific sense of humor, very resilient and a great writer. Maddie was wonderful to spend time with and I will miss her.

Dear Raful Family
Just read about Maddie and felt so bad. She was one of my most favorite neighbors as were all of you kids. I have so many fond memories of all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I remember Madelyn from our days in Kings Park. Your mom was a newcomer to the area and we were delighted to have another fellow mah jongg player in the neighbourhood . We looked forward to playing at her house as she was a wonderful cook and always had delicious treats. It was always pleasant to be in Madelyn’s company as she possessed an air of calmness. I am so sorry to hear of your loss and hope the support of family and friends help during this difficult time.
