MILDRED'S CRAB CAKES !! Now, that was something special to come to Baltimore for. A crab cake dinner on Old Post Road, starting appropriately with Mildred's required Happy Hour featuring 4-olive martinis, a special occasion. Followed by dinner, accompanied by a special chardonnay. We knew all was well if Mildred, after assessing the situation, would proclaim " Philip would be pleased."
Recounting old times - our transatlantic cruise together in 1999, and travels through Europe; dinner's out at Mildred's favorite haunts; visiting Mildred at Susan & Rich's and going through the Kennedy Presidential Library; and the many times we just appeared at the door needing a place to stay while attending a family function in Baltimore or Washington.
We will miss Mildred.

Susan (and family) -
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I would see her occasionally at dinners and she would always be laughing or smiling, especially when giving me updates about you and your family. May her memory be for a blessing - she was a special lady.

Marsha and I would like to send our deepest sympathies to Mildreds family. I remember my cousin Mildred and her sisters baby sitting for me as a young child. As an adult I always enjoyed Mildreds
company at all the family affairs over the years. The best fun times was sitting with the three Kramer sisters. What a family, they were special.May Mildred Rest In Peace. Love- Arnold

I am so sorry for your loss. I have known your mother for many years. We were neighbors on Bancroft Road. She was a kind and caring person. Whenever I saw her, she would always give me a big smile and would ask about my family. She would then, proudly, talk about you and her grandchildren. Cherish the good memories.

I first met Mildred at the Myerberg Center, volunteering at the front desk. When I asked, "What is your name? She replied, Mildred."
I said that was my mother's name, but never call her Millie. Well, needless to say, Mildred told me the same thing about her name.
This was our little inside joke that bonded our friendship.

I would kid her about every hair always being in place and did she just come from the Beauty Shop. Her hair was perfectly quaffed all the time. I wasn't bashful about telling her how good she looked; and I meant every word. Mildred had a great personality, always a smile. I spoke with Mildred on the phone about one or two months ago.. not sure of when. We had our little laughs and agreed that we belonged to the Mutual Admiration Society.

Mildred, to say that I will miss you is an understatement.

Rest In Peace my dear friend.

My sincere condolences to the Berfeld Family.

It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating Mildred's 90th. ANY age would have been too soon to lose her. I often told Mildred that she was my idol...independent, positive, always dressed and groomed perfectly, loving, caring and probably most endearing of all--funny as ****. We'll all miss you terribly, Mildred. Rest in peace. With utmost sympathy and love to Susan and family, Sheri.

Oh Susan and family, my heart is so sad for your loss. Your Mom and Dad were such an important part of David's and my life. I will cherish the memories we shared of beginning a business, life events and wonderful dinners with amazing bottles of wine. They are together at last with so many friends and family, dancing at the Summit, sharing a drink at Tio's and Danny's and telling us wonderful stories about all of your great accomplishments. May her name be for a blessing. With great affection, Janet

Dear Susan and family,
Ilene and I were so sad to see that cousin Mildred had passed. She was always one of my favorites on the Pruce/Berfeld side of the family. We have only fond memories of her and Philip as well as Aunt Fannie. Mildred always had a smile and always stopped to talk to us when we ran into her especially at Panera. Ilene loved that she "told it like it is" and told us stories about the rest of the family from an "in-law" perspective. My mom, Esther (Pruce) Weiner adored her as well. Rest in peace, Mildred and may her memories comfort you
