Dear Getel, Avi and family, I was saddened to hear of Nechala's passing. She always greeted me with a beautiful smile. My Mom and Necha always had lovely conversations and lengthy too :). They would catch up on the latest or maybe they talked about how much money the "gang" saved playing Bingo with their nickel games. I can still see Necha and Moshe coming over for cookouts. A wonderful couple. So many memories of them. May you keep the memories deep within your hearts. XO

Grandma was a strong, beautiful, and incredibly bright woman. When I first heard the stories of Risa’s grandparents consisting of 2 holocaust survivors, one Romanian labor camp survivor, and a girl who escaped Poland to hide in Russia, I told Risa it was a miracle that she was ever born. There may be people in this world with much more education, but how many of those people can speak 5 languages, help run a business, take care of a household, raise her children and help raise other children?
As long as I’ve known Risa she has told me the stories of her Grandma & PopPop and how sweet they were together. Their love set a foundation of family that is filled with compassion, love, devotion and generosity. That love continued with all three of their kids. Avi, Getel, & Jay not only found love, but true life partners who put them on a pedestal just like PopPop did with Grandma.
My single favorite part about Grandma was how she treated Mati. The love she had for him was undeniable. Maybe it was simply the way he treated her little girl, but no matter the reason I was always so impressed by Grandma & Mati’s relationship.
Grandma took great care of her kids and Getel took great care of her mom over the past few years. We witnessed the difficult decisions and heartache that came with watching a dear loved one lose some of their memories, but it was also a time of compassion and love from Getel that showed all the family what love really means. The looks between a mother and daughter were ones of a love I cannot describe. Getel & her mom adored, respected, and loved each other beyond any words.
Grandma treated me like family too. Maybe she saw the respect and love I had for her beloved granddaughter, or maybe she just had an open heart. Either way it helped make me feel welcome and truly contributed to our understanding of love and family.
When Risa was pregnant with Mia we all knew Grandma was excited, but we really had no idea. When Mia was born Grandma lit up that day and every day she saw her for the rest of her life.
We love you Grandma, Bubbie, Mom, & Necha. You are one of a kind and you’re legacy of love will live on indefinitely. ❤️

I remember the family coming to America from Israel in 1958. I was a young child and my Aunt Necha was like a mother to me. From feeding me homemade goodies to coming to the Arlington elementary PTA meetings as my mom, she was always there for me. It was a mitzvah growing up next door to her for many years. I loved her and will always remember her.

Dear Avi, Audrey, and the Pelta Family,
Arnold and I are so saddened by the passing of our old neighbor, Mrs. Pelta. For 30 years, we lived next door on McDonogh Road. Mrs. Pelta was the sweetest and kindest person anyone would want to know. You couldn't ask for better neighbors than the Pelta's. May she rest in peace with her beloved husband. May the many wonderful memories be a blessing to all of you. Sincere sympathy to you.
