Obituary for Norman Scherr
Norman Scherr, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Friday, December 25th, 2020 at the age of 81. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sondra Scherr (nee Baer); children, Dana (George) Wachter and David (Debbie) Scherr; grandchildren, Emily, Abigail, Isabel, and Olivia Wachter, Max and Owen Scherr; and sister-in-law, Allene Scherr. He was predeceased by his dear brother, Daniel Scherr; and parents, Edith and Solomon Scherr.
Mr. Scherr grew up in East Baltimore and attended City College. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and in the Naval Reserve for six years. He and Sandee were introduced by a friend and got married in 1964. While he got great pleasure from meeting and talking to people during his career in tire sales and as his time as owner of Stormin' Norman Tire and Auto Center, the most important thing to him was his family, and his incredible friends who were like a great extended family. His dear friends who supported Stormin' Norman's for so many years ensured that he was known all around town as Stormin' Norman. Mr. Scherr will be remembered for his support of the greater Baltimore City community. His kindness and his willingness to do anything for anyone will not be forgotten.
