Obituary for Dr. Paul Bormel
Dr. Paul "Pace" Bormel, of Catonsville, MD, passed away on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lee Bormel (nee Early); sons, Christopher and Raymond; sisters, Gertrude Magid and Ida Pats; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Bormel, Estelle Greenstein, Jeanette Goldstein, Lena Cotel, Bernard Bormel, Isaac Bormel, Albert Bormel, Rose Baumel, Betsy Wilder, and Nathan Bormel; and parents, Harry and Anna Bormel.
Dr. Bormel was born and raised in Baltimore, MD attending the Talmudical Academy through high school. He went on to graduate from University of Maryland and completed his residency at University of Maryland Medical Center. He also enlisted in the Army and obtained the rank of Captain serving overseas in France. He worked as a surgeon at St. Agnes Hospital and had his own private urology practice there as well.
Dr. Bormel met his beloved wife, Margaret Lee, while working at St. Agnes in 1977. The two married in October of 1997, the same year he retired from practicing medicine.
A private funeral will be held on Monday, May 24th, 2021 at 10:30 am. Others are welcome to watch virtually via the webcasting link. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery - Garrison Forest Road. Please omit flowers.
