Dear Susan and Hanin family, Your Mom's North Oaks family shares your sense of loss. As you know, Pearl and I had a special relationship. When I moved to North Oaks 7 years ago, she read I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, and rushed to tell me that she did too. She wouldn't tell me what year she graduated because it would reveal her age. However, she loaned me her year book which she kept all these years, and I learned she was 8 years older than I. Nevertheless, she always insisted we were classmates. A mutual friend used to call her every day during the baseball season to tell her the time and TV channel for the Orioles game. When he passed away, I took over that job for many years until it was necessary for her to move to Autumn Ridge. She always called me her friend, and I was.
