Obituary for Dr. Roger Copeland Jr.
Dr. Roger Copeland Jr., of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Friday, October 14th, 2022 at the age of 71. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elinor Kinland; loving children, Andres (Shacole) Copeland, Heather (Kevier) Copeland, Elizabeth (Eric) Shoenfeld, and Ann Sutton; loving siblings, Clementine Copeland, Milton (Armenia) Copeland, Nathaniel (Vanessa) Copeland, and Algustus (Anita) Copeland; cherished grandchildren, Tasneem, Jedi, Phoebe, Carter, Esther, and Stella; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends. Dr. Copeland was predeceased by his parents, Rosa and Roger Copeland Sr.
Roger was an amazing man who loved big and was loved by all. He lived a life full of adventure, flying airplanes, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, acting in the movie The Black Walnut, sky diving, deep sea fishing, golfing, serving in the Civil Air Patrol, serving in the U.S. Navy, a variety of successful careers and businesses, and serving as an educator [his passion] for over 25 years. He dedicated his life to loving his family, learning all life had to offer, teaching others, and living his life on his terms.
Services at Beth Sholom Congregation, 1011 N. Market Street Frederick, Maryland 21701, on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Garden of Remembrance. Please omit flowers.
