Dear Cary and Family,
So sorry to hear about your Mom. She and my mother, Jeanne Brown, were friends since childhood. I think they were even in the same sorority. It was always good to see her through the years. She was a very special lady and I will remember her fondly. Sad to think she was probably the last of that generation. My sincere condolences.

Cary, Susan, Evan, Justin and Mallory,

What a gift your incredible mother and grandmother was to all! We loved our chats with her. She proved how information becomes wisdom as people age. She held firm to her beliefs and her pragmatic view of the world was a breath of fresh air. You were wonderful children to her - enabling her to stay in her home and be as independent as possible. What a blessing for all of you! She will be missed. May Ruth RIP.
