Obituary for Stanley Kroiz

Stanley Nelson Kroiz was born 10/14/1935 in Philadelphia to Sara and Samuel Kroiz. Stanley's early years were spent in Philadelphia with his younger brother Gerson, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family moved to Baltimore in the '40s. The 1950s brought a new home on Sequoia Ave and a new brother, Louis. Stanley graduated from Baltimore City College and went to Goddard College and received a BA. He met Emeline (Emmy) Schick at Goddard. Stanley went to Bristol Olvick in Bristol, England for graduate school. Stanley trained as a Shakespearian Actor. During his years in England, he traveled throughout Europe visiting museums, studying art and architecture. He and Emmy, the love of his life, married and bought their first home in Bolton Hill. Stanley kept his love of theater but his creativity turned toward design. He took interior design courses at the Maryland Institute College of Art and worked for several retail furniture stores. He found his niche at the business he started, Studio House Designs, until he retired. He designed for charity, homeowners, and commercial clients. Stanley and Emmy enjoyed buying a place, redesigning it, and moving on to the next place. They were married for over fifty years. He loved Broadway shows, movies, traveling to New York, Europe, Asia, and skiing in Colorado. He was an active member of Beth Am Congregation. Stanley was a devoted uncle to his nieces, nephews and was very active in their lives. He is predeceased by his wife Emmy, his parents, and brother Gerson.

He is survived by his brother Louis of Lovettsville, Va. Sister-in-laws Donna Kroiz and Joan Schick. Nephews Gabriel, Reuben and Samuel Kroiz, Edward Seidel, Jeffrey Metzger. Nieces, Shana Kroiz, Mina Cheon, Lauren Kroiz, Beth Kroiz Metzger, Molly M. Kroiz, Lisa Schick, Patricia Kerwacki. Great nephews Gerson, Isaac Kroiz Seidel, Isaac Kroiz, Doolin Kroiz, Lyle Metzger. Great nieces, Galya Kroiz Seidel, Sasha Kroiz, Mabel Kroiz, Ella Metzger.
