Sylvia and I, and my husband Marc, went to Elementary School #64 together. I lost touch with her for many years after that but we were able to reconnect when we both would get a manicure at the same time on the same day. We would spend much time reminiscing about our early childhood and the wonderful memories we shared about those early years.
But what I would like to mention about Sylvia was the time when, after I undergone a serious surgery necessitated by a life-threatening illness, she insisted on picking me up and taking me to "our" manicure appointment because she thought it was important that I do something that was fun as well as therapeutic.
I never forgot her unsolicited gesture of kindness and caring.

Dear Berly, Paula, Alvin & Victor,
I am so sorry for the loss of Sylvia. Although it has been many many years and some memories
you leave behind as we move forward . I do remember being with Sylvia when we all went to Portugal on the B.Green trip. Life has a way of bringing us back . It is always about Family and I have very fond memories of the Schuster Family . These are the memories we share with our children and grandchildren so they never forget who they are and those who worked to give them Life. During Chanukah we light the menorah and remember Sylvia as our "Light" of blessing.

Victor, Jonathan, Brandon and Alyssa, Alvin, and Berly, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Sylvia was truly a treasure and will be missed by so many. I have so many fond memories of Sylvia. One that comes to mind is Sylvia hysterically laughing so hard she was crying, as Irv and I wrestled with putting together the elaborate toys Sylvia and Victor had bought Jonathan and Brandon for Chanukah (more than 44 years ago!) , May her memory be a blessing.
