Yetta H. Farber (nee Haber), 95, of Fair Lawn, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 29th, 2021. She is survived by her children, Dr. Susan (David) Straus and Marilyn Farber; grandchildren, Rebecca Straus Farber (Evan Farber) and Emily Straus Bastow (Zach Bastow); great-grandchildren, Charlotte Farber, Eli Farber, Eliza Bastow, and Matilda Bastow. She was predeceased by her husband, Hy Farber; siblings, Harold Haber and Morton Haber; and parents, Rose and Toby Haber.
Yetta was an exceptional teacher and a New Jersey Teacher of the Year. Her commitment to education continued into her retirement, when she went on to volunteer in classrooms. She was especially proud of a 1st Prize award for an essay she wrote about her first year of teaching. Yetta was very artistic and enjoyed doing ceramics. She was also active in Hadassah. Yetta had a positive outlook on life and will be remembered as a loving, giving person to both family and friends. Kind and caring, she was always thinking about others. She had a well-deserved reputation as an amazing hostess. At the end of the day, the most important thing to her was her family.
