Dear Brina,

Although I never met Jay, I've read the memorial book and it's clear everyone thought very highly of him. I'm so sorry for your loss and wish I could give you a hug in person, but a virtual hug will have to do. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion.

Dear Brina, Sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Jay in Parole &Probation and we were very close during that time. He was always someone who you could easily talk to about work. He will be missed.

Dear Brina,

I don't know if you would remember me, but I remember Jay from years ago. I was also a Parole and Probation agent, although I was never in the same office with Jay. We played poker together, along with other "guys in the gang" like Paul Adler, Larry Stahl, and Harold Kushner. I also went to the last two years of high school with Lenny Ripps (we were the only two Jews in the school at that time), who was a good friend of Jay's.

I hadn't seen Jay for many years after those days, but about three years ago, we saw each other in the
Gucci Giant. We talked some about the good old days and about Lenny Ripps. Even though it had been years, Jay was warm and funny and, well, the same Jay I remembered.

I am saddened to hear of his passing and extend my sincere condolences.

I bumped into Jay a few years ago at Gourmet Again shortly after his kidney surgery. I was happy to see him. I asked Jay how he was doing. He replied he was doing ok. I said " Jay , you were at Woodstock. If you survived Woodstock , you can survive anything." I am happy to report he laughed like heck.
We will miss Jay.

Dear Brina and Aaron,
The story told by the Rabbi at the funeral today fit Jay perfectly. As his next-door neighbors, we knew him to be a gentle and kind man that lived for his wife and son and the better good for all who came across his path. He will be missed.

Dear Brina and Aaron,
Carol and I are so sorry about Jay's passing. He was not only my cousin, but a friend! I admired him professionally over the years, working two of the toughest jobs possible. He worked for many years as an adult probation officer, helping the hardest prisoners readjust to society. And then became a social worker in Baltimore City, helping place infants and children who had been abandoned by their parents. Jay was definitely someone who showed significant kindness and empathy to those in need. May his memory be for a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
