Dick was such a powerful force in my professional trajectory. He was kind (but firm!) and supportive. I owe him and Rita such a debt of gratitude. My live is so much better having known him. Rest in peace my friend.

I worked with Richard [Dick] in the Baltimore City Solicitor's Office in the 1970's. He was the real deal, intelligent, able to put legal issues in their proper perspective and had a great sense of humor. To his family, my sincere condolences.

Richard, aside from being a superb lawyer and a wonderful client and friend, was the smartest sports trivia person I ever met. Every year we did the Annual George Will Sports trivia contest together. I repeated the questions and he supplied the answers. And his speed in completing the daily NYT crossword puzzles was awesome. I shall miss his warmth and good humor and his expressions of love for Rita.
