Dear Jay, Sue, Rona, and families,
I am saddened to hear of Uncle Henry's passing and even more so that so much time had passed since I last saw him. He was the sweetest man, the baby of the family, and I will always cherish the time spent with him, Aunt Irene, and all of you in those early years, as well as the support and laughter he provided after the passing of my grandparents. Much love to all of you . . .

Dear Jay, Sue, Rona and Family:

I just heard on CNN that with so many of your Dad's family and friends partying so hard in heaven your mom asked G-d to call out the National Guard. Of course, who was the first to respond, the one who has already given most of this life in service to our country, Henry. Now the military man with a soft heart will continue to serve in the next chapter, but this one will be nothing but good times and a happy reunion with your mom. Don't worry, G-d has already blessed your Dad, he had too if he wanted some peace in heaven. I'm glad to have been a smart part of his life in recent years.

My sincere condolences to Henry's family.
It seems like yesterday that we were in the Maryland Army National Guard (from 1959 to 1964).
Chief Warrant Officer Bernstein was always easy to talk to and be with. I especially appreciated the fact that we were "in the same tribe" together.
May Henry's name be for a blessing.

It is hard to believe seeing this. Although I haven’t seen you all of you for many years since we lived in the Lynne Acres community during our childhood days. I have fond memories of your father as well as your mother, of blessed memory in the neighborhood as well as the Moses Montefiore Woodmoor Hebrew Congregation. I’m sorry that I’m unable to see you during this time but will always my memories of your father. May his memory be a blessing. ‎המקום ינחם אתכם בתוך שאר עבלי ציון וירושלים

Dear Jay:

The congregation at MMAE sends our deepest condolences to you and your entire family on the loss of your Dad who we always loved seeing in shul. He was always happy to be with us and the feeling was mutual. One of the last of the old guard from Moses Montefiore Woodmoore Hebrew, our shul's successes clearly stand on Henry Bernstein's shoulders. May your memories of your Dad always be for a blessing.
